Lei Yue Mun Lighthouse

 

Introduction

Lei Yue Mun Lighthouse has been in service for 50 years, guiding ships to cross Lei Yue Mun channel. Since it is located on the Kowloon side of the eastern entrance to the Victoria Harbour, you’ll find a stunning sea view when standing on the lighthouse. As Lei Yun Mun was a main sea gateway of foreign trade transportation in past years, the lighthouse actually witnessed the growth of Hong Kong. The Lighthouse is situated on a small rock island, so visitors can reach it while at low tide hours. At evening, the dim sunlight shines on the sea, and the sparkling golden sea scene is marvelous.

 

Transportation

Take Kwun Tong MTR station exit A1, and take KMB route no.14C; or take a mini bus at Hip Wo Street; or exit from Yau Tong MTR station, and take a taxi or walk there; or exit from Sai Wan Ho MTR station, and take a “kaito” from Sai Wan Ho Ferry Pier.  <Back to Top>

 

 

Lam Tin Park

 

Introduction

Lam Tin Park, the biggest park in Lam Tin, was built along Ng Kwai Shan in 1991. In order to cater for all age groups, there are various kinds of sports and leisure facilities such as the outdoor arena, children’s playground, picnic sites, fitness trails and so on. Moreover, if you like hiking, you may go to the lookout point on the top of the hill and enjoy the spectacular scenery of the east of the Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon East.

 

Transportation

Take Lam Tin MTR station exit B, and take KMB route no. 215X or 216M; or KMB route no. 16 or 603 (from Kwong Tin to Central)or GMB route no. 63 (from Kwong Tin to Yue Man Square, Kwun Tong) or GMB route no. 24 (from Lam Tin to Lei Yue Mun).  <Back to Top>

 

 

Wilson Trail (Stage 3)

 

Introduction

The Wilson Trail (Stage 3) extends from Yau Tong, along the Devil’s Peak, through Ma Yau Tong and reaches Tseng Lan Shue. Through the spectacular and appealing landscapes of Tseung Kwan O and the Victoria Harbour, it takes about 4 hours to complete the full trail of 9.3 kilometres in length. The Wilson Trail (Stage 3) is mainly constructed along Chiu Keng Wan Shan, Ng Kwai Shan and Pau Toi Shan in the Kowloon East Territory. The mountain ranges rise and fall, resembling Pat Sin Leng in Tai Po.  Hence, some people call them "Little Pat Sin". The Wilson Trail (Stage 3) is one of the favourite spots of hiking lovers.

 

Transportation

Take Yau Tong MTR station exit A1, and take the escalator  across Lei Yue Mun Plaza. Then walk along Lei Yue Mun Road towards the Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery. When you reach the gate at the side of the Ko Chiu Road roundabout, this is the starting point of Wilson Trail (Stage 3).  <Back to Top>

 

 

Lei Yue Mun Night Scene

 

Introduction

When night falls, the fishing boats sail back to the Typhoon Shelter. The boats are ablaze with lights, transforming a picturesque fishing village with a glamorous backdrop of the Victoria Harbour sparkling in millions of lights. The beach near the Lei Yue Mun Lighthouse is a good spot to enjoy the moonlight. Besides, dining in a seafood restaurant while enjoying the night scene is absolutely a good choice.

Take Kwun Tong MTR station exit A1, and take KMB route no. 14C; or take a mini bus at Hip Wo Street; or exit from Yau Tong MTR station, and take a taxi or walk there; or exit from Sai Wan Ho MTR station, and take a “kaito” from Sai Wan Ho Ferry Pier.  <Back to Top>

 

 

Hong Ning Road Park

 

Introduction

Hong Ning Road Park features a Chinese-style garden which contains two artificial lakes, a small waterfall, two bridges and several antique pavilions. These facilities compose a peaceful and enjoyable environment for families to go for a leisure stroll. Besides, the other side of the park provides various leisure facilities such as two tennis courts, jogging trails, children’s playground and turf gateball court.

Kwun Tong Pier Coast

 

Introduction

The sunset scene at Kwun Tong Public Pier is amazing. The panoramic view at dusk is breathtaking. The sky is filled with the glow of the sunset. On fine days in winter, you may appreciate the golden yellow sun setting behind distant buildings. The beautiful scenery is further enriched by the reflection of the golden sunlight in the sea. When night falls, watching the luminous lights on Hong Kong Island in sea breeze will be a marvellous experience.

 

Transportation

Take Kwun Tong MTR station exit B3, and walk along Hoi Yuen Road for 10-15 minutes; or take bus route no. 11D, 15A, 15P, 23, 28A, 40, 74A, 74X, 80, 80P, 80X, 83X, 93A, 269C to Kwun Tong Ferry bus terminal. <Back to Top>
